The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, its official name was originally the British Airways London Eye, then the Merlin Entertainments London Eye, between January 2011 and August 2014, the EDF Energy London Eye and is now called the London Eye. From late January 2015, the London Eye will be sponsored by Coca-Cola.

The entire structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft). When erected in 1999 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel. Its height was surpassed by the 160 m (520 ft) Star of Nanchang in 2006, the 165 m (541 ft) Singapore Flyer in 2008, and the 167.6 m (550 ft) High Roller (Las Vegas) in 2014. Supported by an A-frame on one side only, unlike the taller Nanchang and Singapore wheels, the Eye is described by its operators as "the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel".

It is currently Europe's tallest Ferris wheel, and offered the highest public viewing point in London[citation needed] until it was superseded by the 245-metre (804 ft) observation deck on the 72nd floor of The Shard, which opened to the public on 1 February 2013. It is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3.5 million visitors annually, and has made many appearances in popular culture.

The London Eye adjoins the western end of Jubilee Gardens (previously the site of the former Dome of Discovery), on the South Bank of the River Thames between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge, in the London Borough of Lambeth.

Trafalgar Square London

 Trafalgar Square is a public space and tourist attraction in central London, built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. It is situated in the City of Westminster. At its centre is Nelson's Column, which is guarded by four lion statues at its base. There are a number of commemorative statues and sculptures in the square, while one plinth, left empty since it was built in 1840, The Fourth Plinth, has been host to contemporary art since 1999. The square is also used for political demonstrations and community gatherings, such as the celebration of New Year's Eve.

 The name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, a British naval victory of the Napoleonic Wars over France and Spain which took place on 21 October 1805 off the coast of Cape Trafalgar in Los caños de meca, a town in the municipality of Vejer de la Frontera (in the municipality of Barbate since 1940), Cádiz, Spain. The original name was to have been "King William the Fourth's Square", but George Ledwell Taylor suggested the name "Trafalgar Square".

In the 1820s George IV engaged the architect John Nash to redevelop the area. Nash cleared the square as part of his Charing Cross Improvement Scheme. The present architecture of the square is due to Sir Charles Barry and was completed in 1845.

Trafalgar Square is owned by the Queen in Right of the Crown and managed by the Greater London Authority, while Westminster City Council owns the roads around the square, including the pedestrianised area of the North Terrace. It forms part of the Northbank business improvement district.

How to Pack for a 5 Day Vacation

For me, vacation means HOLIDAY! Before leaving your hometown, you must to plan your trip carefully. A 5 day vacation is always enjoyable. However, you will need to pack some necessary essentials in order to have a great one!

Here are some tips. 

1. Make sure to check the weather. You don't want to pack sweaters and jeans to find out that the weather that week will be warm! You can search the weather forecast at google and it is free. 

2. Pack items that will occupy you. Some good ideas are books, video game devices, iPods, cell phones, etc. You never know when you will get bored during that trip!

3. Remember a bathing suit just in case you go swimming. Even if you are going to a place with cold weather, bring one in case you were to go to an indoor pool.

4. Bring some money! A big travel mistake is forgetting money, and not being able to buy souvenirs or gifts. If you bring any, be careful with it. Carry it in a pocket, or even stuff it in your shoe if you are visiting a busy city like New York City, Las Vegas, Chicago, etc. If you're in a place where it's not so likely that you will get mugged, just put it into a handbag and make sure to be cautious.

5. If you want to bring something that is important to you, make sure to pack it. If you have a special item that is important to you at home, don't say, "I don't think I'll need it," then you end up wanting the item. Just bring it if it's special to you.

6. Take care of your teeth. You need to brush and floss your teeth. Bring a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash (if you use mouthwash) and a bottle of water, for rinsing.

7. Take care of your hair. What do you use for your hair at home? Well, bring it with you. Hairbrush, Shampoo & Conditioner, and ponytail holders are definitely things that you should bring with you.

8. Take care of your body. Make sure to shower during this trip; there is no need to be greasy or smell bad. Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, body spray, and soap are the main body care items that you will need during the five days, but bring any other body care items that you may use.

9. Decide on your sleeping supplies. Where will you be sleeping? Most likely you won't be needing to worry about a sleeping bag and pillow unless you are going camping. No matter where you go, you will need pajamas. But bring whatever sleeping supplies you may need depending on where you are going.

10. Get your weather supplies together. In case it rains, bring a jacket of some sort. Also, in the rare case of a severe storm, make sure you have whatever you would need to get through that storm.

Remember:

• Don't over pack! Remember that you will be bringing other stuff home from your vacation too!
• Be neat while packing in order to make more things fit and be able to find things.
• Pack as lightly as you can.

• Don't bring anything that you would never want stolen or lost, unless you want to or need to. There is always the chance that your items could be stolen or lost.

The Dream To Travel Around The World

Traveler defined as 'One who travels or has traveled, as to distant places'. Everyone has a dream to travel around the world and same goes to me. Some people may travel in a very luxurious way because they have lots of money but how about people like me who is using personal saving to travel?

I don't have that much money but i still want to travel because i believe that in order to know the world better, you must go out and see the world by your self.
